Sorry for the long delay! In Rome we stayed at a monastery guest house (one of hundreds that offer hospitality in this way). Steph had trouble getting online there and has been dealing with a cold, so by the end of our full days of walking and sight-seeing didn't muster the energy to post. But wi-fi access at our slightly sketchy hotel in Florence is a breeze, so look for catch-up posts soon!
